Edit Post
I feel like someone beat me up. I spent this morning pulling up weeds and dead grass and attempting to patch our lawn. But that's not the only reason the backyard looks a little different. We had our patio installed this weekend!
We still need to find a little lounge chair and spruce things up a bit, but we're so excited to gather around the firepit.
I also took a few hours and added some frames going up our stairs. I'm not sure if I'm going to add anything to it quite yet, but we'll see!

Patio looks AWESEOME! I am on a mission to get rid of the weeds masquerading as grass. In my dreams? Two levels of patio with a three step stair between them. Raised beds lined with cor ten steel......
Your yard looks awesome - it's inspiration! We definitely have a serious case of weeds masquerading as grass. Pulling them out is why I can't walk today :(
I just looked at your post on Garden Web and followed up on your link to this blog. You have really done a great job on your home and garden. On the Garden Web page, you showed pictures of the patio, what does the rest of the yard look like now with the patio installed? Some simple things to get an interesting design would be to use some glazed pots of a few different colors with annuals or herbs. Great job on the patio!
